Aspects

A school or college curriculum is much richer and broader than the sum of its parts.

In the Big Landscape, ‘Aspects’ are understood to be those broad expectations of the educational experience that will benefit pupils and students.

These expectations are often defined loosely by society rather than specifically in documents.

This list in the Big Landscape is not definitive, nor is it finished.

It will embrace the values and expectations of parents and teachers and may change over time.

However, it is not simply a vague wish list.

Teachers will recognise how their teaching and their subject curriculum both contribute to and draw upon, the outcomes and benefits that will accrue – to students – as a consequence of these broad areas of experience and learning.
