Experiential Knowledge

Experiential knowledge is knowledge gained through experience, as opposed to a priori knowledge. It can also be contrasted both with propositional knowledge and with practical knowledge.

A typical feature of experiential knowledge is defined as 'truth learned from personal experience with a phenomenon rather than truth acquired by discursive reasoning, observation, or reflection on information provided by others' (1976, p. 446)
